MHS 2015 Matric results
The 193 MHS candidates who sat for the NSC examination in Nov. 2015 trumped all expectations by achieving a pass rate of 99.48%. One learner qualifies for the supplementary examination in March 2016. If this learner then passes the subjects, the coveted 100% pass rate will be achieved.
MHS boasts 154 A symbols, 275 B’s, 353 C’s, 345 D’s, 170 E’s, 58 F’s and only 9 G’s.
Regarding subject averages Drama tops the log with 76.5%, followed by Religion studies with 73.44% and Afrikaans First Additional Language with 73.1%.
Other subject averages are as follows:
Afrikaans Home Language 60.54%; English First Additional Language 64.6%; English Home Language 66.85%; Mathematics 60.24%; Mathematical Literacy 63.94%; Geography 65.79%; Life Sciences 55.63%; Physical Science 53.02%; Hospitality Studies and Tourism both boast above 61% average.
Middies’ two Agricultural subjects are proud of their 59.31% (Management) and 59.03% (Technology) averages.
Top achievers are Schalk van der Merwe with 8 A’s (85.9% average), Rudolph Backer, Mbuso Mahlangu, Suné Mostert, Megan Potgieter and Marizel Scheepers with 6 A’s each, Dheeya Rampersad and Anke Theron with 5 A’s each, Thiané Jansen van Nieuwenhuizen, Marili Benadé, Joshua Mey and Suné Smit with 4 A’s each, and Charné du Preez, Anneri Kapp, Thulani Mthombeni, Elani Nell, Tsholofelo Sekati and Jeané van Dyk with 3 A’s each.
114 of MHS’s 193 learners – 59.07% – qualify for Bachalareus studies at universities of their choice, 77 (39.9%) qualify for Diploma studies at other tertiary institutions, and only 1 (0.52%) achieves the Higher Certificate without the option of further studies at tertiary institutions.
We want to congratulate these learners on excellent results. We believe they now have a firm foundation from which a bright future can be built.
